Tony McKenna

Coney Cactus (Kinloch Brae-Swift Palmer, Dec 15) made it eight wins (& two 2nds) from her last ten outings with victory in the 730m final at Nottingham on Monday.

The withdrawal of likely favourite Huarache Madison saw Tony McKenna’s 4-6f win by a comfortable five lengths in a calculated 44.96. She is now unbeaten in four races at Colwick Park.

The night also featured a double for Charlie Lister OBE. Tyrur Hugo and Newinn Shadow won in 30.45 and 30.42 (-40) respectively for the 500m course. It means the seven time English Derby winner trainer has reached an incredible 50% strike rate from his 36 runners this year.
