So it is six wins and six times on the POW chart for Roxholme Kristof following another outstanding performance in the semi finals of the RPGTV St.Leger. There is also a duplication for Queen Dolly who ran to within one spot of last week’s time at Nottingham.

Dolly is joined in the final by Acomb Lillian, who sister Acomb Jenny was the fastest over the Kinsley sprint this year. That accolade is now held by. . .another sister Acomb Fatima.

On the subject of ‘copy and paste’ selections, Derek Knight’s Doorus Jet is a great time saver, that’s five in a row at his home venue, this one coming in the final of the local 500m track championship at Hove.

Sister track Monmore staged nine heats over three different distances of their version on Saturday but one run stood out, a 28.16 (-20) win for Stuart Buckland’s dual distance hound, Daddys Prince.

Meanwhile the first round of the Essex Vase saw a long overdue emergence of a new Romford 575 specialist for Mark Wallis in Sober Express with the fastest time of the year. Staying with the ‘short six bends’ theme, Crayford S1 grader Dantes Inferno produced one of the performances of his career and the fastest run over the 540m course in 13 months.

Angela Harrison tends to dominate the Newcastle nominations and sees Droopys Back Up replace kennelmate Droopys Trapper.

Harton Lara and Woodcocks Romeo jointly moved to the top of the Sheffield’s winner’s table for 2020 with nine wins each. The latter gets the nod on the basis that his wins are from only 22 races.

East Anglian Derby finalist Lastfortheroad was some way off his 27.38 form last week but a 28.20 (-20) was still easily the quickest run of the week at Yarmouth.

Tromora Harp was the only sub 26.00 winner at Pelaw Grange this week. A sub 27.30 run is normally required for the Sunderland vote. Without one, the obvious choice is D3 sprinter Chasing Hard with a 15.96 run.

The most competitive choice of the week, surely Doncaster. Three good quality A2/A3 races within an hour separated by just four spots, and the quickest of them all, Kilara Way.

Hollywood Coco couldn’t win a race at Henlow last year but the switch to Harlow has been much more fruitful including a recent A6-A6-A5 hat-trick in the fastest time of the week.

It is 45 years since Derek Law won the Derby with Tartan Khan and he will be hoping he has a contender next year – wherever it is staged – following Droopys Respect’s impressive 29.55 victory at Towcester on Sunday.

The form for Henlow’s Maiden Derby Final continues to hold up with fifth placed Fernhall Roxy, who began life in A6, producing the best run of her career to date in A1.

The Central Park and Swindon nominations came in the last two meetings of the week with Tenpin clocking the fastest Kent Derby semi and completing a seven-timer. Rodrick Rules was the quickest of Swindon’s eleven 470 metre open race winners for a recent record of six wins and two seconds in his last eight races.
