The British Greyhound Breeders’ Forum has confirmed the dates for this year’s BGBF Scurry competition. In recent years the Cat 2 £3,000 to the winner competition for British Breds has been run at Henlow, but this year it will be at Harlow, over three weeks with the Final on Wednesday 14 October.
BGBF chair Liz Mort explained: ‘Up to now we have run the Scurry at Henlow, with our Cat 2 Sprint at Harlow – but with Henlow opens going to Towcester the distances there favour running our Sprint with them, over 270m, and the Scurry with Harlow over their standard 415m.
‘We are very excited about our schedule of races this year. We have had great entries already for the Oaks at Doncaster and the Sprint at Harlow, and we are confident we will see the same for the Scurry, and for the Northern Maiden at Newcastle as well as our later competitions of course!’
Heats of the Scurry will be run 30th September, Semi Finals on the 7th October with the Final on the 14th October.
