Droopys Braedon can complete a brilliant eight-timer in the semi-finals of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake over 525 yards at Limerick but it won’t be easy.

Robert Gleeson’s runner faces all three others quarter final winners, along with Boylesports Jet, who followed him home last week.

Last week he blasted out of trap one to beat the re-opposing Boylesports Jet by three quarters of a length in 28.35sec, the fastest of the round.

He is again drawn from trap one is expected to make all.

Boylesports Jet, formerly Hoodwinked, had set the standard in the opening round with 28.37sec and will again push the selection hard.

Graham Holland’s Rural Hawaii, who is also unbeaten in the stake, has major claims from his favoured trap six.

He’s improved with each run in the stake and last week clocked 28.45sec. Any trouble inside will favour him.

Fellow third round winners Pale Moon (28.71sec) and Fastaway Jayfkay (28.73sec) need to step up on the clock.

Cunning Barney is fancied to take the opening qualifier.

Rachel Wheeler’s just failed by a neck to overhaul Rural Hawaii last week.

The son of Crash had won his two previous races including a 28.57sec performance in the second round and can soon be in control.

Beaming Boost looks the main threat.

Pat Buckley’s Kingdom Derby runner-up was only a length and a half behind Droopys Braedon last week and will be pushing hard.
