Farloe Blitz laid down a marker for trainer Owen McKenna when outshining kennelmate and course record holder Fiery Splendour in trials before racing on Saturday night.

The most high profile session so far saw the recent beaten favourite in Cork’s Supersprint Final record 28.25, with Splendour stopping the watch at 28.39 – some 33 spots slower than his personal best.

Other trialists included Juvenile winner Ballymac Brogan (28.45), Graham Hollands Clares Wonder (28.48), be Up Front (28.59) and Hold Joe Golden (28.87).
