Former Sheffield trainer John Walton was back in town on Tuesday, lining up a possible Category Three success for his Baytown Bisto.

The event, the Sheffield Stadium Winner of 1, as the name suggests, is for greyhounds that have won just one open race during their career thus far and the Belle Vue raider had landed his over the South Yorkshire circuit on his first outing in this country last year.

Lining up in heat two, he showed his liking for the track again as he enjoyed the easiest of victories, striding out impressively to put six lengths between him and runner-up Glenpadden Wood in 28.74 for the 500 metres, some 42 spots faster than the other heat winner West House.

The draw for the final on Tuesday, April 28 is – 1 Damson Jam; 2 West House; 3Blissful Kate; 4 Baytown Bisto; 5 Academy Warriror (m); 6 Glenpadden Wood (w)
