Roxholme Dream became the latest Ladbrokes Golden Jacket hotpot to hit the dust in the competition when knocked out in the semi-finals over 714 metres at Crayford today.

Since the event moved to Crayford where hasn’t been one ante-post favourite succeed in this Category One event worth £17.500 to the winner.

Hayley Keightley’s runner failed to come out running but moved up well before getting taken out by the leader Farleys Rio at the third turn.

This left Mark Wallis’s Black Francis clear and he came home three quarters of a length clear of the strong finishing Malls Pride in 45.44sec. Wallis had stated before the competition that Francis, his only runner, was “way too big at 50-1”

Racenight Jenny, the fastest first round winner, justified favouritism in the opening qualifier when coming from last to hit the front off the penultimate turn to beata Prestige third Wiki Waki Woo by five and a half lengths in 45.36sec.

Droopys Bear was the hot favourite for third qualifier but he never took part after a slow break.

Marathon runner Bubbly Time came out running from his favourite trap one and turned the opening bend in front.

From there it was only a question of how far and he came home almost eight lengths clear of Millwards Amy in 45.09sec.
