Droopys Oddysey justified his tag as ante-post favourite with victory in the second round of the Barrys Tea Stake over 750 yards at Cork on Saturday. Fraser Black’s runner, who was beaten last week, made no mistake this time when pulling clear at the penultimate turn to slam Fire Height Amy by nine and a half lengths in 41.55sec.

Black was denied a double when his fancied Droopys Bomber faded out of contention in heat four. The race went to John Duggan’s Chloes Gina, who led from trap to line to beat Native Hut by theee and a half lengths in 41.80sec.

Shaneboy Frankie overcame early trouble to lead at halfway in the opening heat and beat Crompaun Jamesy by four and a half lengths in 41.98sec. Neilus O’Connell’s Razldazl Rubin led on the second lap in heat two to register a two length victory over Ballymac Jarlath in 42.02sec.
