Dorotas Wildcat made it 11 wins from 17 outings at Towcester with the fastest run in the second set of second round heats of the Star Sports Englihd Greyhound Derby.
Kevin Hutton’s black, never beaten when drawn in red or blue at his home venue (7/7), was marginally slower to the sectional (5.20 v 5.18) than when defeated (from T4) by Rising Brandy in the first round.
But the pitch closer to the rails made all the difference as he romped up from Droopys Verve in 29.07 (-20).
Verve’s brother Droopys Biker was also hugely impressive on the night with a 29.16 win for Pat Buckley.
The run saw Wildcat edged into 13-2 and the new ante post favourite
